New player quickstart: your first session (and your free +7 set)
Welcome! This is the "everything I wish I knew on day one" post. Ten minutes here saves you an evening of confusion.
1. Your account
Register on the website (aftermu.com). In-game account creation is deliberately disabled — the website is the single source of truth, and it's also where password recovery lives, so use a real email.
2. Your free gear
Every new character starts with a complete +7 luck equipment set: armor pieces, weapon, and shield, all with luck options. You do not need to buy gear to start. Do not let anyone tell you to "quickly sell" your starter items — you'll want them until your first real drops.
3. Where to go first
- Level in Lorencia/Noria/Devias spots for your level bracket — spawns everywhere were repopulated, so you don't need to hunt for mobs
- At level 400: /reset (back to level 1, keeps stats, +10 WCoins)
- Grand reset via /mreset when you're deep in resets: +50 WCoins
- Claim the Daily Reward every day you log in — early days literally pay jewels (Bless/Soul/Life), later days pay growing zen and WCoins. It's 31 days of escalating gifts.
4. WCoins without a wallet
WCoin is the XShop currency (NPC 617 in Lorencia). You earn it from: resets (+10), grand resets (+50), and the Daily Reward calendar. The XShop sells consumables, boosters and Bundled Jewels x10 — never gear. Gear comes from the grind: drops, bosses, the Chaos machine. That's the server's whole deal: pay for convenience, never for power.
5. Jewel basics (the short version)
Jewels drop from mobs (roughly one every ~45 kills), bosses and invasions. Bless/Soul/Chaos are your bread and butter; Guardian and Harmony matter past +9. Full details in the jewel guide thread. Use /pack 1 to bundle jewels x10 so they stop eating your inventory.
6. Survival tips
- /lock <password> your items early — it's the anti-scam protection. Nobody legitimate needs you to unlock or trade your gear.
- Staff will never ask for your password. Not in-game, not on Discord, not anywhere.
- Set an offline store (/offstore) when you log off — vend while you're away.
- Offline auto-hunt (/offattack) keeps leveling for you while you sleep.
- If something bugs out (item vanished, quest stuck), post on the forum with your character name — staff can verify and fix or compensate. Don't just rage-quit.
7. The one golden rule
This server's economy is tuned so that playing is the way to get strong. Everything sellable for real money is convenience. If someone offers to sell you gear for cash in Discord DMs, they're scamming you — gear is grind-only, by design.
